Grand Banks Varnish Prep

Transom showing unbleached area where hailing port was painted. Note light and dark areas where the bleached area was sanded through to darker teak. If the bleached areas are not sanded out to even the color, it will look the same way after finish is applied
.
Another view of the transom showing how extremely light bleached areas
can get. Note also the wet areas where salt has collected and
draws the moisture out of the air.

This caprail is on the same boat and has been "refinished" by the same
people that are working on the transom. Note the dark areas on the
outer edges of the top of the caprail where the bleached area was sanded
through while the center and rounded sides remain bleached. There
are already several coats of finish applied and this will never even out
in color.
